Areas of Support

Your gifts are an investment in the improved health and wellbeing of our community. Funds raised for these projects save lives, improve wellness, and provide education on numerous topics that enrich our community members – all vital to advancing Adventist Health Feather River’s mission – Living God’s love by inspiring health, wholeness and hope.

There are several ways to support:

AH Feather River Fund: This fund supports areas of greatest need, allowing AH Feather River to make agile and dynamic decisions in healthcare’s ever-changing and growing environment.

Birth Day Place Refresh Campaign: November 2018 marks 50 years of babies born at Feather River Hospital! We’re celebrating this joyful milestone with a refresh of The Birth Day Place. Offering supporting midwifery births in addition to traditional and Caesarian births, The Birth Day Place has a stellar reputation. We specialize in caring for babies and families, establishing trusted relationships with our patients and providers, and caring for babies as young as 34 weeks in our special care nursery. Many families return for the birth of other children because of the loving, supportive care they received. Since 1968, we’ve helped our community deliver 29,000 babies…and counting! Join us in refreshing this space to provide an even better experience for our families. Click here to learn more about The Birth Day Place.

Cancer Center Patient Assistance Fund: Benefiting AHFR cancer patients, this fund assists with non-insurance-related costs like transportation to treatments, groceries, housing, and more for financially struggling patients. Patients can focus on their care, rather than concerns over expenses. Click here to learn more about the Cancer Center.

Diabetes Education Fund: Benefiting AHFR patients with diabetes, this fund provides financial assistance for diabetic education classes and provider visits for the un- and underinsured. Since 2013, Feather River Health Foundation has awarded $16,500 in diabetes education assistance. Click here to learn more about diabetes care.

Employee Assistance Fund: We take care of our employees. There are times when unexpected, emergency expenses arise. The AH Employee Assistance fund provides support for unexpected situations that cause significant financial hardship.

Feather River Hospice House Fund: This fund supports Hospice House, our six-bed inpatient program. This state-of-the-art house provides specialized nursing care, spiritual support, bereavement services and more. Our dedicated team provides loving and supportive care to our patients and families, and your gifts assist in allowing us to care for our community.

Hospice Angels: Hospice Angels are donors who make automated, recurring gifts to our Feather River Hospice program. These monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, or annual gifts help ensure our ability to provide quality care and are directed to the Hospice House program.

Feather River Hospice Endowment: Invested for long-term growth, this endowment secures support for Feather River Hospice’s inpatient and outpatient programs. Funds will become available once total gifts reach $500,000 – we are currently 82% toward this goal. This is a lasting way to recognize loved ones or friends. Light Up A Life: Our December fundraising event for Feather River Hospice, Light Up A Life is an opportunity for hospice patient families to come together, begin the holiday season, and make a difference for other hospice patients and families by making a gift. Last December, we completed a $36,000 campaign to replace all six mattresses and electronic bed frames in our Hospice House.

Facility Upgrades: Serving the Ridge since 1950, AHFR is staffed by highly trained, skilled physicians, nurses, technicians, and medical personnel. Their combined years of experience and areas of expertise provide you with the consistent quality care AHFR is known for. This fund helps ensure our team has the necessary tools and facilities to provide that exceptional care for our community.

Gift of Giving: AHFR employees, volunteers and providers contribute each fall to provide Thanksgiving boxes for needy families on the Ridge. Each box is $45 and provides ingredients for a full holiday feast for eight people. This year’s goal was to provide 276 boxes to deserving families in our community.

Golf Tournament: Each spring Feather River Health Foundation hosts a golf tournament to support a program, service, or needed equipment. Donors enjoy a beautiful day of golf and support a great cause. April 2019 will support The Birthday Place Refresh in honor of our 50th Anniversary.

Meals on Wheels: Meals on Wheels provides hot, nutritious meals up to seven days a week to any person in Paradise and lower Magalia who does not have access to adequate nutrition, due to either a personal health problem or caring for another person. Low fat/low sodium and diabetic diet options are available. Each meal costs clients only $6. This fund also provides scholarships for those who are not able to cover the cost of these meals.
